Thorny Devil wants you to live and learn all about craft beer: so we give you all the craft beer news = globally; hope the following article helps you understand more about craft beer:
From the beaches of Western Australia to the streets of Launceston. From a British inn in Melbourne to a brewery that makes more than 100 beers in a year. From men with lustrous beards to a former ice cream factory. From cardiac surgeons to $300 imports…
If there’s one thing to be said for the craft beer scene, it’s nothing if not colourful, featuring as many different characters and different approaches to brewing and serving beer as there are beer styles. It’s something that’s abundantly clear as we welcome 17 new breweries, bars and bottleshops from across five states onto The Crafty Pint today, each with their own distinct personality but a shared dedication to improving the lot of the Aussie beer drinker.
Bacchus Brewing: Operating multiple small brewhouses in Brisbane and responsible for more beers in a year than most breweries will make in a lifetime.
Black Heart Brewery: A former champion home brewer and cardiac surgeon and his mate producing traditional styles from the ultimate backyard man shed.
Southern Bay: Previously best known for producing beers for others, Southern Bay’s now creating a roster of its own beers under the stewardship of Steve “Hendo” Henderson.
McLaren Vale: Their own brewery is finally up and running in Willunga, just a few kilometres from their VALE/INN venue.
Bullant Brewery: Victoria’s easternmost brewing outpost just outside Lakes Entrance.
Clancy’s Fish Pub Fremantle: The original Clancy’s, home of great beer and awesome fish dishes in the heart of Freo.
Clancy’s City Beach: The beer bar with possibly the most enviable spot in Australia, looking out over Perth’s City Beach on a fresh sunset every night.
East Of Everything: The team behind Bar None and the Gumbo Kitchen open a craft beer-focused venue in Melbourne’s east.
The Wilde: A slice of old England – and a smidgeon of Europe – in the heart of Melbourne’s Gertrude Street.
The Alehouse Project: A new 12-tap venture bringing great craft beers and a sweet beer garden to the people of Brunswick East.
Odyssey Tavern: If you build it they will come. OK, so the Odyssey’s owners didn’t build it, but they filled it with awesome beer and the people of Geelong and Torquay have come in droves.
